OSWEGO, NY- The Oswego State Lakers kicked off the Spring 2022 semester with a bang on Friday night, as they defeated the Potsdam Bears 3-0 to open Whiteout Weekend.
Travis Broughman lifted the lid on scoring in the first period with an assist from defenseman Tristan Francis, continuing his recent streak of offensive success. Rocco Andreacchi was next up on a power play in the second. Andreacchi, who was getting some time as a defenseman, tipped the puck around Potsdam net minder Connor Green for the score. Alex DiCarlo ended scoring with a couple minutes left in the third period.
Steven Kozikoski tended another shutout for the Lakers. Last nights shutout makes it back to back shutouts for Oswego’s netminder.
Oswego will look to continue “scoring by committee” and for another strong performance from Steven Kozikoski as they host the Plattsburgh Cardinals in the Whiteout game. It’s the biggest game of the year here in Oswego; if you can’t be here in the Deb, join us on WNYO 88.9FM for a special two-hour Countdown to Faceoff, with the puck dropping at 7.
