OSWEGO, NY- The Oswego State Field Hockey team opened their season with a win over Medaille College on Friday in a dominant 7-0 affair.

The 7-0 victory continues a strong start to the season for Oswego, as they advance to 2-0 after beating Houghton College on Wednesday 5-0.

Oswego hammered the Medaille defense with 36 shots on goal, with Medaille only having one shot on goal all game long. Nancy Pagliaroli and Kacie Smizer led the Oswego offense with two goals each, but it was a team effort as many players racked up a goal or assist.

Goalie Erica Scheblein and the defense pitched another shoutout, only facing one shot and making her only save of the game in the process.

Kristyn Clare carried the torch for Medaille as she made 29 saves on the day.

Field hockey is back in action September 4th against Wells College.
