Oswego, N.Y. – The Oswego State Volleyball team defeated the Keuka Wolves in five sets as the team took the floor at Max Ziel Gym for the first time in 676 days.
Oswego lost the top seven ranking players in kills from the 2019 squad but still dominated on the net all night long. Eyes were on Sydney Chiffriller as she led all returners in kills in 2019 and the junior did not disappoint, leading the squad with 12 kills. Newcomers Cara Simplicio and Georgia Farry shined on the net, Simplicio added 10 kills and Farry contributed 7.
Oswego dominated at the beginning of the night, winning the first two sets 25-19 and 25-13 as the Lakers looked to be cruising to an easy win.
Keuka came back to win sets three and four in thrilling fashion with scores of 27-25 and 25-21.
Oswego regained momentum in the fifth set in a 15-11 win to win their first match of the year.Â
Oswego Volleyball goes on the road to Morrisville this weekend for four matches in two days, starting Friday at 6:00 and 8:00 against Hood and Hartwick.
