WOMEN’S HOCKEY: Lakers take a Statement Win over Adrian

Adrian, MI- Coach Digby went to work.

This phrase has been repeated all pre-season in the leadup to the 2021-2022 Women’s Hockey season for the Oswego State Lakers. A strong recruiting class for Coach Digby has brought some fresh faces into Oswego to try and challenge for a SUNYAC title. The Lakers traveled west on Friday to face off against Adrian College. Adrian was ranked #10 in the 2019-2020 season by USCHO. The Lakers, however, pulled off a statement victory that backs up all the hype that has surrounded the Women’s Hockey team this year.

Both goals for Oswego were scored by none other than Megan Teachout. Her first goal was unassisted. Kennedy Chyne stepped in to set Teachout up for the second score. Karmen Anderson scored the only goal of the night for Adrian. Emma Corbett assisted Anderson on the goal.

The game was filled with penalties. 59 minutes of penalties were tallied, with Mia Conboy of Oswego and Callie Wollschlager of Adrian College receiving game misconducts in the third period.

The Lakers will look to keep their good road trip going tonight, as they face off against Trine University tonight in Indiana.
